Back in 2017! Sactioned Region 9 Flyball Competition.
In 2016 we introduced a sanctioned Flyball competition to Triad Dog Games run by Winston-Salem's First In Flight club. Spectators called it "doggy drag racing" as many have never seen this dog sport before. All spectators and their pooches welcome. Come and watch, ask questions, learn how to get your dog involved in flyball, and watch these relay dogs show their stuff!
WHAT IS FLYBALL?
Teams of dogs race against each other from a start/finish line - over hurdles - to a box that releases a tennis ball to be caught when the dog presses a trigger (spring-loaded pad). Then they race back to the handlers at the line with the ball to tag the next relay dog.
Information will be on hand to learn about the dog-sport and team representatives to learn how to get your dog started in flyball. Please note, this is a "loud" sport! Barks ricochet in the enclosed gym-area (We'll have some earplugs on hand for those who find it a bit overwhelming.)
LOCATION: Education Building (Inside)
SPECTATOR'S SCHEDULE: May 20 & May 21, 2017
Competitions start very early and should be running and open to spectators all day Saturday, May 20th. Sunday it will be open until all teams have finished competing - probably until approximately 1 p.m. (Awards presentations will be held on Sunday afternoon).
To compete, teams must be sanctioned by NAFA and have their CRN number to register.
